To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones togethe; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep and a time to cast away; A time to rend and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

About Me

My husband and I have been married for 37 years.  We love spending time with our  family and having grandkids visit.

We've lived in NE, WY & NV, have moved many times, and currently are loving the Sandhills of Western NE and living in the country.

Time with my family

My Husband came from a largish family of seven, I came from a smallish family of 4. He wanted four children, I wanted 6.  When asked how many children we have, we joke that we had his 4 and then my 6, then each got one more. 3 boys, mixed in with 9 girls, and we still have our youngest two at home. We have 15 grandchildren to date, 7 girls and 8 boys.

Time for Projects

There's always a project in the works at my house.  I Scrapbook, Sew, & Quilt.  I've always loved re-arranging and decorating our home, and often that involves re-doing, re-purposing, or making do.  However you want to describe basic re-cycling! I'm just discovering the joys of Annie Sloan paint! Stay tuned!

Time in the Kitchen

I like to cook and bake, especially for a group or special occasion. My interest in the kitchen started back in 7th grade in "Home-Ec" when our teacher had us make cheesecake (It's still my favorite to make!) My mother encouraged my cooking efforts by letting me completely plan and cook a meal every week, buying whatever groceries I needed.

Please bear with me, as I'm still learning my way around this new format myself! I'd love to hear from you, so please take a few seconds to leave me a comment!

From my project page....

Finished!! This "vintage" quilt has a story: My grandmother made this signature quilt for my mom, when she got married--55 years ago. She had started quilting it, but had only got a little bit done on it, and never finished it. (My grandmother was not a quilter and I don't believe even enjoyed sewing much) She put it away. 20 some years ago, she gave the quilt into my keeping, as I had gotten interested in quilting and said I would like to finish it. During those years I did very little on it & it was kind of out of sight, out of mind. Last month (Dec 2013) I decided this was my top project priority, to finish it!
